You can still have fun exploring the farm world and driving the vehicles, however much you choose to interact with (or try to avoid) the money side of things. The in-game currency can be earned, as mentioned above or you can short-circuit the hard agricultural slog by using in-app-purchases. And then it all comes down to the (probably) boring bit - selling crops and, ultimately, buying new vehicles and expanding the farm. You do get to drive the vehicles though, with full control of attached tools, throttle and steering.
